SPECIAL EVENT: NUTRITION AND DIET WORKSHOP WITH LAURIE FINEISEN. Friday, July 6th and/or July 13th 12:00-1:30 p.m.

Join Laurie Findeisen of New England Wellness, LLC at the Salt Cave of Darien for a workshop as we explore different aspects of nutrition and diet for long term health, weight management and much more while experiencing the healing benefits of Himalyan Pink Salt. We will cover a different topic each week and help keep each other motivated and accountable. All sessions will include goal setting, interactive group discussion, healthy recipes and tips for success. Join us for one or both! Week 1: Abs and Long Term Health are Made in the Kitchen - not the gym! on Friday, July 6th -- 12-1:30 pm Whole 30, counting points, dieting and then falling off the wagon all imply short term goals. We will talk about a scientifically proven approach to nutrition that is easy, tasty and great for the brain, heart and waistline. We will focus on foods that give us the biggest bang for our buck -- nutrient dense, filling and energy/mood stabilizing, whether your goal is to lose a few pounds or just feel stronger, more energetic and healthier. Week 2: Move Waste from your Waist on Friday July 13th -- 12-1:30 pm Carbohydrates, fats and sugars are not created alike. These three nutrients serve a lot of important functions in the body, but there are so many choices and dietary theories – It’s hard to separate fact from fiction and navigate all the options! Come learn about the balance that will help with weight management and wellness while not feeling deprived. Adult or Children Session - reservations are highly recommended. Salt cave sessions at all times unless a class is noted.

Book your 45 minute or 25 minute individual adult only session to experience the health benefits of breathing micro particles of dry salt while resting in a cave-like atmosphere.

Children can benefit while having fun! Children only sessions (ages 6 months to 12 years old, price includes one child and a caregiver) gives them a chance to play in the salt with buckets and toys, all while taking in the healthy minerals and nutrients in the air.

Need to multitask on catching up with friends and breathing healthfully? This session is for you! Come in for a complimentary coffee or tea from Neat Coffee and sit for as long as you would like up to 50 minutes with a friend, read, rest or whatever!

Vinyasa Yoga - Fridays at 10:00 a.m. (55 minutes) Level 1 and up. A MINIMUM OF 3 PARTICIPANTS NEEDED TO RUN THE CLASS as an instructor is brought in for the class. Thank you for your understanding!

Come join Tommi Kern, Certified Yoga Instructor, for an invigorating session in the cave while breathing in the health benefits of the salt. Challenge your core with the shifting salt underfoot which is unlike your standard yoga class! Please bring a yoga mat, water and white socks. Levels 1 and up. With 500 hour RYT, Usui Reiki Master, and a bachelors degree in nursing, Tommi gained an appreciation of the importance of healing, self care, and recuperation while working as a neurosurgical critical nurse when she discovered an outlet in the breath and flow of yoga, and has been hooked ever since. Yin Yoga - Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m.

Join Jennifer Duncan, Certified Yoga Instructor, for a 90 minute Yin Yoga class while receiving the healing benefits of the Cave. Yin Yoga is a slower paced yoga, meditative in nature, in which you sink into poses for 3-5 minutes targeting the connective tissue of the body. The poses are performed while either seated or laying on the yoga mat, with a minimal amount of physical exertion aiming to release physical and emotional tensions that have accumulated in the body due to the stress of work and personal lives. Some benefits of a yin yoga practice include reducing stress and anxiety, improving flexibility both on and off the mat, releasing fascia and improving the flow of chi or prana in the body through meridian stimulation. This is an all levels class, appropriate for beginners and seasoned yogis alike. Please bring yoga mat, water and white socks. Yoga blocks, straps and blankets will be provided. Dynamic Stretching - Saturdays at 1:30 p.m.

Come join Barry Horton of B All About Your Body who will present "Dynamic Stretching". This stretch class engages your body in a series of specific movements designed to increase elasticity, blood flow and muscle temperature. Perform these stretches on your mat while taking in the essential and healthy minerals from the salt! Please bring a mat, water and white socks. All levels welcome. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.

Meditation - Lunchtime reboot - Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m.

Press pause and reset on the mid-week hustle. Join us in the salt cave for meditation at lunchtime on Wednesdays. This audio guided mediation session combined with halo therapy offers tremendous health benefits that will restore balance, boost immunity, calm the nervous system, and alleviate stress. By utilizing a simple approach to meditation and breath work, you leave feeling centered and grounded for the rest of the day.

THIS CLASS WILL RESUME IN THE FALL. Gentle Yoga is a slow Yoga practice, to lengthen and strengthen the body, while focusing on the breath and relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat, water and white socks. All levels welcome. Our instructor, Merri Mueller, is a highly experienced, extensively trained yoga teacher. Merri is known for teaching newbies, advanced yogis, runners, spinners, cross fitters, young, old, men, women, overweight, overworked, overstressed, pre & post surgery, pre & post natal and cancer survivors. Cave Rentals/Happy Hours

Have a girl's outing, birthday party, family gathering, bridal party bonding or any event by renting the cave for your private group. Enjoy the time with your group and the beverages you bring while listening to fun music and breathing the healthy salt (up to 12 people). Subject to availability.

SPECIAL EVENT:Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing with Alison DeNicola - July 26th at 6:30 p.m.

Yoga Nidra is a deeply restful guided meditation practice that invites us to visit each level of our being & open the door to ease & bliss. Paired with sound healing, it is an amazing way to access and release energy that is held in the body. Experiencing all of this in the healing space of a Himalayan salt creates the perfect setting for deep peace and healing. Experience a deeply relaxing yoga nidra with sound healing. Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, chimes, and more will help reset & restore. Alison is a certified Yoga Instructor as well as a certified Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra teacher, Five Element Yoga teacher, IET Practitioner and Hypnotherapist. In addition, she has studied Thai Yoga Massage, Polarity, Reiki, Shamanic Reiki, Intuitive Coaching, Chakra Therapy and Restorative Yoga with amazing teachers all around the country.
